End of Septic Cleaning Debacle
I’m writing this here for my records, since I like to keep track of everything regarding my house.
In April I had written about how the township I am living in is requiring that homeowners clean out their septic every 2-3 years. If you’ve had yours cleaned in the last year, you can opt out until the next cycle of cleaning requirements, meaning I wouldn’t have to pay to have mine cleaned again till 2012.
I sent a letter to the township requesting that I be put on the next cycle since our septic was inspected and emptied at the time of purchase in August 2008. They called back and said I needed to fax them a copy of the report saying it was cleaned, which I thought I did, but apparently I didn’t have the right report, I only had the inspection paper (despite it saying it was cleaned on the inspection paper). Since the paper I had was from the inspection company and not the cleaning company I had to call a different company that did the emptying, and get them to send me a form saying it was emptied. (You following this?)
Fast forward through the past two months of me calling, speaking with two different males, leaving messages, calling almost daily to get ahold of someone at Shealers Septic and never once getting a call back. Finally a week or two ago I got ahold of a man who actually took down my information and said he’d mail me the invoice I needed. I finally got it yesterday and faxed it over to the township guy who said I was good to go and should receive a letter confirmation soon.
*collapse* Finally.
